I am sponsoring my fiance and am a bit concerned about the I-134 part.

I finished grad school a few months ago and don't have much in the way of savings (close to nothing). I have good credit and a full-time job as a registered nurse in the 60-80k/year range (once I get a full-time job where I utilize my masters I will be making more). I don't own property but do own a car. I live in NY city and am currently subletting (I will be moving into my own apartment with my own lease though prior to my fiance moving here).

Is there a possibility that we won't be approved due to my lack of savings? Also, I have heard that there is something I can file where someone else can serve as a guarantor (or something to that effect). My mother could possibly do this. Does this form exist, and if so, would it benefit me to file it?

Also, my fiance has significant savings. Should I mention this on my I-134?

Thanks!

Assuming you don't have any kids and such, earning $60k+ is more than enough (you need just shy of $20k per annum for 2 people).

You have no worries. To make 60K is way above the poverty line for you and your partner. Savings in an account is not necessary. Your mom too need not serve as your co-sponsor cos your finance currently is goo. Just filled out the form and add your recent 3 pay stubs to it, a letter from your employer indicating when you were employed, your status and your earnings. If you don't have any tax transcripts to show, just write on a separate sheet and explain why; you started working not long.

Good luck

It is not about your savings. It is about your current annual income, which is more than enough > http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf
