Didn't take back I-94 card and I-20 after interview

I went for my interview yesterday and the IO didn't give me back my I-94 card or my I-20. I presumed the IO was supposed to take those documents from which is bad on my part. Please I will like to know if the IO was supposed to make copies of the above mentioned documents and give me back the originals or hold onto the originals.

And if the IO was supposed to give me back the originals after making copies, please any suggestions on how to get my I-94 card and I-20 back from the IO?

Sometimes they make copies of an EAD and / or I-94, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they keep the originals, sometimes they don't. It's completely up to the local office and officer in question.

She took them from u because u r approved and u don't need them anymore smile.png

The OP didn't state they had been approved.
