I just received my Noa2 and am starting to do the paperwork needed for the interview.

I have two sources of income. One which pays 9,372 a year and the other which pays 6,907.

This totals up to 16,279 which leave me a bit short to satisfy the 125% of poverty level needed.

I have around 60,000 dollars in my bank in the USA so I wanted to use this to make up the shortfall.

It appears to be enough but then I read on Visajourney that assets perhaps are not good enough.

I found the follow quote on this site below.

The USCIS looks VERY CLOSELY at current income
and not just the assets.

Have other people found this to be true? That is my assets might not satisfy the CO.

The embassy in Vientiane, Laos appears not to accept a joint sponsor either.

Has anyone else been granted a visa on the partial use of assets?

Thanks

I can't believe they would deny you if you had that much in your bank account. I really have no idea if this is typical (I'm guessing not) but my fiancee just had her interview yesterday and they did not even check the I 134. I also provided paystubs and a letter from my employer both of which were not asked for and she got an approval.

I am a bit worried myself, since my bf was unemployed for a while and even if he had his job for over a year now and he makes enough... He doesn't OWN much nor have many savings....

SO I don't know.... =/
