Hi all,

About a week ago my wife (the benefciary) received a packet regarding K3 from the consulate office. Since we are almost at the last stage at NVC for CR1 processing, we are not sure what to do with this K3 issue at this point. We would like to wait for CR1 and are wondering what is the right approach, whether to call consulate and tell them we are not interested in K3 anymore or just wait for a while till they receive CR1 papers? What do you think is the polite and right thing to do? Thanks a lot.

It is a balance of whether you want to be together a bit quicker with less benefits (K3), or whether you want more benefits and wait a bit longer (CR1). It's a choice only you can make, and you will apparently need to make soon! If you choose not to pursue the K3, you need to write/call the consulate immediately and cancel the process. If you choose to pursue the K3, then write the NVC immediately and cancel the CR1. Or you can pursue the K3 now, continue the CR1, and then return to Ireland for the CR1 interview a few months after arriving here on the K3.

Hope that helps....

Russian wives transfer the interview for 2-3 months because of long turns in embassy in Moscow. By the moment of K3 interview package of CR-1 visa comes to the Embassy and interview on K3 automatically changed to CR-1. Call in the embassy and learn, whether it is possible so. I hope you have understood, that I wished to tell. Good luck.
