This from the embassy website:

NOTE: Other people can assist you with your visa application. Note that under U.S. law (22 C.F.R. 41.103) you must electronically sign and submit your own application unless you qualify for an exemption. Even if someone else helped you complete the application, you (the applicant) must click the “Sign Application” button, or your application may not be accepted.

Don't worry!

No one knows WHO clicked the Submit button. As long as you agree with the statement that all information is true and correct, I don't think anyone would ask who clicked Submit. Yes,Technically it was not you that submitted the digital signature but who clicked can't be proved. I don't recommend this as a second party or lawyer can complete everything until the digital signature and save to the Government web site. Just provide a username, password and security question answer to the one to sign and you can open a completed DS-160 and go to the end of doc and click SUBMIT.

If another person is filing out your DS=160 I highly recommend that you read through it and ensure that it is correct. This is your document and you are stating that the facts are true. As LoveLife stated they won't know if you hit the submit button or not but have the document saved, get the username, password and answer for the security question and you open it and review it for completeness and then you can be the one who HITS the submit button. Very simple and you have adhered to the policies that USEM has asked you to follow in completing the DS-160,

USEM will never know who personally clicked the SUBMIT button on the website. But USEM can identify through the IP address where the form was submitted if it was done in the United States or anywhere else in the world. So technically speaking, they would know if they want to know.

The chances of them checking it where the clicks originated may be little or none, unless you belong to a terrorist group , LOL.

On a serious note, I believe it was someone else who replied on this post about not breaking any US laws. I try not to, especially immigration stuff.

You guys should be fine .... Good luck.

So I guess "will never" is untrue being they "can identify" ...... technically speaking.

As an added note, suggesting to violate law or other illegal "adventures" is a violation of the TOS here on VJ.

Caveat to my original post: Let me be clear here; I do not repeat I do not recommend anyone skirt the law. The process is to be taken seriously and the outcome is precious.

As I had stated, this is your document and I would review it and submit it yourself no matter who completed the form for you. IMO. It's such a simple process as all you need is the username, password and the answer to the security question and you can view and make changes and upon YOUR satisfaction, submit the form.

Good luck
