I-94 doesn't arrive, you need to retrieve it from this website https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/

There is no official timeframe as to when you need file for AOS but it is recommended to do it as soon as you can after marriage so you can get your EAD and AP and then GC as soon as you can. It is $1070 to file.

If you have any vaccinations that need to be done you'll need to find and see a cheap civil surgeon that will fill just pages 1 and 5 of form I-693 and required shots (without trying to do full medical again) prior to AOS as you meed to send the results with the paperwork.

3. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas?

If you were admitted as a:

a. K-1 fiancé(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fiancé(e); or as a

b. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen; and

c. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then:

(1) You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485 is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination, and the medical examination did not reveal a Class A medical condition, or if you did have a Class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility and have complied with the terms and conditions on the waiver.

(2) Even if a new medical examination is not required, you must still show proof that you complied with the vaccination requirements. If the vaccination record (DS 3025) was not properly completed and included as part of the original overseas medical examination report, you will have to have the vaccination report completed by a designated civil surgeon. In this case, you are required to submit the vaccination record and page 1 of Form I-693.

You should be good to go if you got 3 or 4 shots. Look for a check mark on the "blanket waiver" box. Other vaccines boxes will say something like "not medically appropriate" and/or "insufficient time frame." If these are marked then you probably don't need to go to Civil Surgeon. We did not go to a Civil Surgeon and our interview is on November 26th. No REF.

You need to wait two weeks from when you entered the US to get your SSN. It takes that long for you to show up in the system. You can get it now or wait until you are married BUT not if you wait too long. SSA will not give you an SSN if you are within two weeks of the 90-day visa limit. Joan got hers in her maiden name two weeks after she got here, but we did not get married until later. We will go back and change her name after she gets her green card.

Thanks for the Info, How come you have to wait for her Green Card to arrive before you change her name at SS Office?

I'm not exactly sure but it probably has to do with legal status. You are in the US legally once you are married but it is sort of a "limbo" period between your visa which expires in 90 days and the grant of legal permanent residence. You can change your name if you are married and file for the change before 2 weeks prior to the I-94 expiration date. We were told to wait for the green card because of the timing of our wedding. Maybe someone who understands this part of the process can add some thoughts.

So are you saying its better to get the SSN after the Marriage? or still the same that they will require your Green Card when you get your SSN after Wedding............. kind of confusing.... My Fiance's Vaccine records got 3-4 CHecked on her Vaccination Records, mostly on "Blanket Waiver" under "not medically appropriate" .... so u think they wouldnt require for FOllow up Vaccines? Did u pay $1070 for AOS?

I know, There are many confusing things in this process! You can get your SSN anytime. Joan has hers in her maiden name. You can get yours in your married name as long as there is more than two weeks left in your I-94. We got married late in the process so the advice to us was to wait until we adjust change the name. It does not matter. The number won't change so it is a personal choice.

It sounds like your 3025 is the same as ours and we did not go to CS. Our family doctor (not a CS) reviewed the form and said that Joan was up to date. There is always a chance that the reviewing officer will ask for RFE, but several friends of ours have filed without a CS and no problem. We did not get RFE.

Yes the fee was $1,070.00 including the biometrics. Be sure to file for the EAD and AP at the same time. Those are included in the fee if filed together.
