We filed our I-130/CR1end of June and I-129F/K3 end of Until today I knew no more than everyone else on VJ. Today my congressman sent back a response from the USCIS from their inquiry on our case status.

- Both of our petitions have been joined and are still at the NBC

- Both of our petitions will be adjudicated at the same time (clearly now its been confirmed 129f/k3 visas are NOT being processed any faster

- "Due to processing delays at the VPC's unrelated to our case...." our applications will not be adjudicated until May 2014 (which puts us out to just about exactly 11mths)

11mths appears to be the standard ongoing processing time now for most generally everyone with uncomplicated cases.Bummer....my husband and I will have been married a year and a half before I see him again.........sad :'(

As I posted in another thread:

Wow, that's really depressing. Like I've told everyone else, my child will be walking and talking by the time my wife is over here. I'll miss so much of his/her life and the baby's not even due until April 1st. sad.png

So 11 months plus 4-6 months for NVC and embassy?

Edit: Yet K-1s can get their I-129Fs approved like a knife through butter - blazingly fast. Go figure that one out....

Just an update....sent a reply back to my congresspersons asking them to reinquire about our 129f/K3 application....they responded that they have made a follow up inquiry to the NBC regarding the I-129F petition and requested some clarification on why they are being processed together.

Not that I think it will change anything, but I (we all) need to understand exactly what is happening with these things.....(esp since the NBC made the statement that the delays are not because of our case, but because of general backlog). I want them to say WHY they aren't processing K3's!

This is the nuttiest process ever. I totally get that they (NBC) have no control over the # of petitions that they have and the time it takes to process them, but what has changed in the past 8mths that has pushed this out so far to 11mths for what appears to be all Service Centers (not just the NBC)....like how did this happen? I get that the Govt Furlough stopped the Consulates and Embassies, but it DIDN'T

….stop the Visa Processing Centers (that was confirmed for me by a processor at the TSC).

We clearly didn't have a bake sale this year to bring our familie's over, just this year, right? Sorry, just trying to find some humor in all of this.

I'm telling you all, I WILL NOT give up on this process. I understand it's stupid and I understand it's a long process this I-130/CR1...but it will bring our spouses (and families) over as IMMIGRANTS with nothing left to do to let them function here like a normal person. We will all be alot closer to an IR1 by the time they all get here! Remember, my spouse will be 64 and I'll be 60 next year....OUR CLOCKS ARE TICKING....I NEED him to get over here. BUT, I waited for 40yrs to find him again, I can surely wait for a few more months! :/ (that's my daily mantra!). He is the best reward at the end of a long long wait...every second I will get to have him back in my life will be like a lifetime to me. I'm pretty sure we didn't find each other on our own....someONE up there had a hand in this....so I'm thinking perhaps this is my personal final test to make sure I understand very clearly how valuable he is to me! Silver linings are very important, trust me! Life is very very short....he and I are the last two of our group of very close friends from the early 70's. We are locked to each other for the rest of our days.

I'll post again when I hear more. Stay tuned!

I'm hating on the process because the USCIS doesn't level the playing field and process everything at the same rate. I'll hate on the process all I want when I have to wait for what likely will be 2 years to be with my with and child.

I think our fellow poster meant is that if they can do that for K-1's surely they can do the same for IR/CR-1's, or even K-3's, but they simply are not.

It hasn't swung back around to CR-1s way yet, but it will.

Looks like we're already starting to see some case transfers.

Exactly! If they can process I-129Fs so fast they can process I-130s that fast, but just choose not to.

It's as I said before, most like they diverted resources to process the backlog of K-1s, and next they'll do the same now that they have a backlog of something else.

It'd be just ducky if they processed everything at the same rate, but it's just not how it seems to work with them, it's in swings and cycles. Just gotta wait your turn on the wheel.
