They just asked us how we met, and how our relationship progressed after that. Then, it was all the yes/no questions on the i-485 form, and they asked if we had additional documents to give them. I brought copies of our latest tax return showing that we filed as married filing jointly, our phone bills, credit card authorization, health insurance bills, and receipts from a trip we had and a recent furniture purchase. I punched them at the top to make it easier for the IO. I didn't ask if we were approved, she simply said that my conditional green card will arrive in a couple of weeks. Thirty minutes after the appointment, I received the text and email saying my card was ordered for production. :) I hope this helps! Good luck on your interview!

Thanks it does a lot.

I have all of our financial proof like joint insurance, taxes, bank account etc . Then I have pictures of us since we have been together at various family events and trips. Some Xmas cards that have been sent to us as a couple.

I hope the questions are just as easy.

I read about a couple that had their interview separate from each other.

But we have nothing to hide so I guess I shouldn't be nervous lol

Congrats once more :)

We went for our interview today and we got approved on the spot :) !!!!! I'm so happy.

We got to boston around 45 mins before our appointment and went to grab breakfast before. When we got to the building we went through the metal detectors and went through to the waiting room. While we were in there the director of the office came down and made a short speech about how they are there to help as be professional and that's what we should expect from the interviewers. He also told us how he and his wife had been through this process so he understood what we were feeling. It actually made us feel less nervous. Until they call my wife's name and not mine. The woman told us that she was taking my wife to talk first and then she would call me in. After the what felt like the longest 15 minutes of my life, she called me and to the room. He told me that she had spoke with my wife , And had now instructed she was not allowed to communicate with me for the duration of the interview. Then started asking questions about when we met, what our address was, who lived with us, if we have any pets. The she just got really relaxing start having a conversation with her and then started to throw in a few questions here and the and was trying to catch us out. She asked me who people were in our wedding photos and if I had met her family. Then she went through the check list on the application I.e have I ever been military trained or a spy :).

Then she said we were approved :) took my EAD cards off me ( I've had 3 from college) and to look out for the card in the mail in 5-10 days.

By the time we were out the building I got a text from uscis saying my card had been ordered.

After being so so nervous about this day and November seems like an eternity ago the blue dot has finally reached the end of its journey and I've reached the end of mine (for two years at least),

Thank you to everyone that has provided advice and listened to when things weren't going too good.

Good luck to everyone else who is waiting and congrats to everyone who has completed their journey.

We just got home from our interview and we got approved not on the spot but we knew we would be approved.

We went with our baby and right away the guy said "They brought the DNA with them".He asked for our ID's,life insurances(we don't have any),tax returns filled jointly(we filled our taxes last night),he asked for more pictures and we gave pictures from the baby shower and some hospital pictures. He then wrote something on the I485.Then he asked questions on the I485.He did have a comment about our baby's birth certificate since my name wasn't on it and this was because we didn't have our marriage certificate at the time we were filing the birth certificate forms but we didn't know that was needed.I tried rectifying it but I didn't meet the birth registry people when I went there.I explained all that to him and he said ok.

He said he believed our marriage was real,we talked about TV shows, about the missing Malaysian airplane, and he kept asking us the same questions over and over again and then he will say "did I ask you that already?".We talked about soccer,he asked me who I thought was the world's best player and mostly irrelevant stuff. He then talked about other couples and his experiences, the people he had denied, he also said they only need to believe you 51% to get approved.

At the end I asked if we were approved or if we needed any document but he said he will go back in and update the status.

I got a text message and an email that my GC was ordered about 1hr later. Overall it was a good experience, much better than I expected.

Thanks to all for your help and comments, you guys really helped immensely.I hope all VJers who have their interviews today will have good stories.

Thank you all,my wife and I are very grateful.

My husband and I also had our interview today at federal plaza in NYC. Our interview time was 8:45am so we arrived at 8:15am. Boy... was the security line long but we got through security at around 8:25am. We went to our floor, and was asked for our Ids, and was told to wait. About 10 minutes after, we were called along with two other couples to go to another interview room. I thought they were going to separate us! My husband and I prepared for if that happened but still.. I would prefer to be interviewed together.

Anyways we waited until about 10:00am and we were called in. I was pretty nervous but my husband kept cracking jokes to lighten to mood :)

We swore in and he questioned my husband 1st. He asked him:

How did you two meet?

Continuation:

And follow up questions. We met a track meet so he asked what distance I used to run etc.

When is your wife's birthday?

What's her parents name?

He then asked me:

When is your husband's birthday?

What is his parents name?

And all of questions from the form, to which I replied no.. ( am i associated with a communist party, felony etc).

He then asked for all joined documents. He took 3 pictures from our album, and my i94.

The only problem was that we didn't have the most recent taxes from our sponsor because she hadn't filed yet. He said everything was great but we will be receiving a letter in the mail to provide her most recent taxes. :(

My husband asked if we would be having a second interview or anything and he said no, that we were good. But we do need that extra information. Overall it was great and the questions were really basic and I believe that an approval is coming my way after we send in the taxes from our sponsor. :)

If you are in Chicago the average days to interview is 136 days I think, but you can check on immigration timelines stats for your office. You can always call and ask for your status or explain your situation, they might give you some info, but I think there are still people in here that have not received an interview day either, so don't worry too much.
