Don't have a bank statement saying the stuff for I134

Oh oh, I might be in trouble! My interview is in 5 days. My fiance did not make enough money last year so we have a co-sponsor who has given me all the required paperwork. My fiance, of course, still has to fill out the I134. I have his letter of employment, pay stubs. I don't have a letter from his bank saying what is in his account. Is this very important? Feeling very nauseous right now. :(

You shouldnt need that unless he is using his assets to qualify.

We didn't present anything at all showing what was in my husband's account but we did have tax transcripts which were the most important item as far as I was concerned. Are you bringing those? If he doesn't qualify and you have a strong co-sponsor then I would assume they're looking at the co-sponsor more closely than anything.

I have requested transcripts for my interview but I am not sure we will get them in time. My Fiance filed his taxes online. I have printed out those forms and I also have printed out his W2s (he only had them electronically). Do you think that will be sufficient if I don't have the transcripts?

When did you request the transcripts? It took us a couple weeks to get them.

My advice, at this point, is to just take everything you've got and see what they say. If they want/need more, they'll let you know and you'll have the opportunity to gather it and send it in to them. It may delay you a little bit but at least you'll get everything you need to the right people in order to get the end result you need. You'll get through it either way even if it means a little extra work to present additional paperwork. My guess is you'll be fine though because the most important docs to them are probably going to be the joint sponsor info instead.

I requested them yesterday...so I probably won't get them in time :-(

I can't afford to have any more delays with this process and your answer has really freaked me out! So here is our plan, and I have been reading up on it. I have read that the 1040 form that was filed along with the W2s is fine but transcripts are preferred. I also read that it is possible to walk into an IRS location and request the transcripts on the spot. The closest one to my fiance is an hr. away but we are desperate so I think he will probably just have to make the drive.

I hope that this works out! Thanks for responding and I think that makes me want to get my hands on the transcripts even more!

If this makes you feel any better, I've been worrying about the same thing. I received an email from the Montreal embassy a couple days ago requesting that I bring "missing" papers with me-including the I134 with 2012 tax return. They didn't ask for the 3 years just 2012. No mention of paystubs, letters, etc. This eased my mind.

Tax transcripts are easily obtained by going to an IRS office. You will walk out with them that day. As dukeandduchess has said, the co-sponsor documents are what are needed, your fiancé, not so much.

I think if it is only an hour away that is worth it for the peace of mind to at least be presenting the documents they prefer. I know many many people have taken their full tax returns rather than show the transcripts BUT I think anything that makes the job easier for the person on the other side of the glass is a good thing. The tax transcripts are very easy for them to glance at rather than digging through an entire tax return. That's just my opinion.

Either way I think you'll be just fine since it is more about the other sponsor as we've mentioned previously.

Hannah777 is the one with the co-sponsor, I sort of hijacked her thread to ask my questions. Sorry OP!

Anyways, I just hope he can get the time to drive and get the transcripts. He is an active duty Marine and so just taking the day off to go somewhere is not always possible :-(

We are trying to figure out how he can go get them, as you said for peace of mind and everything. Although for the tax returns submitted, I don't have that many pages, just 2 pgs of W2's and then 4 pgs of what was sent, so 6 pages...are the transcripts alot less than that?

Sorry I feel like I took over your thread with all my questions! So are you guys bringing in transcripts? Or are you bringing in just what you filed and W2s or something. Also, did Montreal send the email as just a reminder to you before the interview? I wonder if I will get an email from them...

transcripts are a single double sided page.
