My father will be the sponsor for my foreign fiance since I cannot meet the requirements. I am preparing to send form I-134 (Affidavit of Support) completed by my father along with required documents to the Embassy in Argentina. My question is, do I need to complete this form myself too? My understanding is that it only needs to be completed by one sponsor (my father).

Do I need to send a letter explaining why I am not the sponsor (was a student last year/just began a new job/cannot meet requirements yet)?

I am not sure if I need to send anything regarding my current financial situation (if I am not the sponsor)?

Thank you for your help!!

regardless of whether u meet the requirements or not, you as the petitioner shud be the main sponsor so u shud fill up an I134 form and if u need ur dad to co sponsor he shud also submit an i134 together with ur i134. attach on ur 134 forma and ur dad is ur ITr, w2. for the last yr . and recent pay stub, employment letter .

You yourself need a form, but you do not need to explain why you don't meet the financial guidelines. It's self explanatory that your dad will be the co sponsor because you do not make enough. But still, you are the primary sponsor and you do need a form.

You still need to file a separate AOS--because you are the petitioner, even though you do not meet the financial guidelines, you still have to.

YOUR DAD: will have to submit an I-134, with supporting documents.

YOU: will have to submit an I-864, also with supporting documents

Supporting documents are: W2, ITR, pay stubs, employment certification, etc.

It's what my husband and brother-in-law (co-sponsor) did in my case.

Hope this helps! Good luck!
