Petitioner's passport still in maiden name - problem?

This is my first post, so hello VisaJourney folk, and thanks in advance for the help!

I am a UK citizen in the middle of applying for an IR-1 visa to join my wife in America. We had previously lived together in England on a UK marriage visa, but she moved to the States to start fulfilling the affidavit of support requirements shortly before we started the application process.

Her passport is still in her maiden name as we wanted to get it sent off for our UK visa immediately after getting married, and we were wondering if this is likely to cause problems at any stage of the IR-1 application, as all of her other official IDs are in our married name.

We are currently awaiting approval of the I-130 petition so the passport they currently have on file for her is the maiden name one - would it be wise to get her new passport now, mid-application, so that there are no name discrepancies by the time we get to interview; or would it just cause more problems because the passport we initially scanned and sent in would no longer be valid?

I've searched around on VJ and other sites for answers, but there don't seem to be many people with this exact issue - if anyone could shed some light on it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Her passport can be in a different name. At the interview in London, only your passport will be viewed, so her having a new one wouldn't benefit you like you think. Her passport is not part of the interview.

We filed our I-130 in May, just initiated changing her maiden name a few weeks ago. It would not be a problem as relevant offices share information about the whole process.Would be picking the new passport by next week.
