Do I need valid (unexpired) passport in interview or oath?

Hi , my passport expired recently and I am waiting for my n400 interview. Do I need a valid unexpired passport at interview time or in oath ceremony? Right now I have my old passport. Do I need to renew it before interview or what?

If anybody knows, plz let me know. Thanks.

02-28-14 -> I-130 sent to Chicago Lockbox.
03-03-14 -> USCIS received. (Priority Date)
03-09-14 -> NOA1 received.
06-04-14 -> NOA2 received. Approved.
06-18-14 -> NVC Received case.
07-03-14 -> NVC Assigned Case#(Got Case# & IIN Over the Phone).
07-22-14 -> DS-261 Completed.

No, you don't need a current passport unless you plan to travel after the interview and before oath.

That's right..your native passport doesn't need to be current at the time of interview. No need to renew it. I would say, save you money to get a US passport after the oath which you will need to travel after oath.

Yes you need it if you took trips on it after you received your green card. Your IO may want to verify your passport against your list of trips. Sure wanted to see that for my wife. Stepdaughter's passport expired shortly have she came here, and her dad wouldn't let her renew it, so she had to list zero trips. Took it along anyway, but her IO didn't want to see it.

Regarding, do you want to renew it? No law says you have to do that, this all deals with residency requirements.
