Hello...I am planning on applying for my parents and unmarried brother whose in his 30s...they are all Canadian Citizens...here are my questions...

1) My parents were previously sponsored through my mothers brother but then they decided not to pursue the entire process...would that past process have any affect on their new application?

2) Can my brother be sponsored by me?

3) During the process if they decided to visit me in US...will they have issues crossing the border?

Sibling visas are taking about 12 years.

The previous petition shouldn't cause any issues.

Yes, visiting is allowed while cases are pending.

1. Previous petitions have no affect on any petitions you would file.

2. Yes. However it takes 12 years to petition a sibling. He cannot immigrate with your parents.

4. As long as they are visiting, then there shouldn't be any problems. If they plan to immigrate and stay, then visiting would not be appropriate.

1) The documents that I need to send for my parents application will be my birth certificate and my parents marriage certificate...right...am I missing anything?

2) For my brothers application...will be my birth certificate and my brothers birth certificate...right...anything else?

Hello again...I am a little concerned...I am planning on applying for my parents and brother...but I am unemployed...a house wife...will USCIS require any information such as ...if I can afford to bring my parents and brother here...like a job letter etc...even though my parents and brother don't require any financial assistance...

Please can someone tell me exactly what documents USCIS will ask of me...so I can prepare accordingly.... THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Yes. You'll be required to show you can fulfil the financial requirements. See the I-864 form.

It is true that if the immigration reform bill happens, then the sibling visa will be going away. But it hasn't happened yet, and may not. Currently you may still petition for a sibling. Sibling petitions may end as may parental petitions for children over 30 something. It is one of the things being talked about under immigration reform so we can make more room for people that sneak in and make demands ( I truly wish they would deport all adult illegals )

With older people you may not only be required to show you meet the standards of the I864 but that you have health insurance for them. This can be VERY expensive for older people with preexisting issues. Because they are older and so close it may be easier ( and more to their liking ) to stay where they are ( they have a lifetime of friends and connections ) Make sure this is a family decision.
