St Lukes delay leaves only 1 or 2 days until interview - What to do?

Hello All,

My fiancee had an abdominal mass found at St Lukes. Day two of her medical would have been done on Wednesday the 16th. But they required her to receive an ultrasound and submit the report back to them. The good news is the mass is uterine fibroids, which are not cancer and can be left alone and just watched with regular doctor exams. But now the time frame until her embassy appointment is very short.

St Luke's should have all the paperwork hand delivered from the doctor's assistant on Monday. We have that promise from the doctors office that did the ultrasound. But, my fiancee's embassy appointment is Wednesday at 7:30am.

Should we cancel the embassy appointment and reschedule?

Everything is being cut so close. I hate to cancel. But I don't want to risk causing any long-term problems for her K-1 Visa process.

St Luke's said that "she has to comeback to our clinic because we can only release the medical reports to the concerned person." I am not sure exactly what that means. I thought they released the medical to the embassy? Or maybe they mean Barbara has to receive whatever paperwork they normally give the patient.

Of course I want to have my fiancee here ASAP...but I don't want to do so at the risk of jeopardizing her visa. i.e. what if she gets to the embassy and they don't have her medical report? How bad is that?

Anyone have any wisdom in this matter?

Thanks!

Joe

Don't cancel your interview, even if there is a delay because of the medical records it will be a shorter wait then re-scheduling. But it sounds like St. Luke's want your fiancee to stop back, for sure she needs to do that, there have been times were St. Luke's allowed the medical records to be hand carried to the embassy.

Glad to hear the mass is not cancer... a day to smile for sure.

Hi Hank,

Glad to hear your advice. I prefer to keep moving and let the pieces come together as they may.

Thanks for the glad tidings. We feel very blessed it is only an inconvenience, and not a cancer diagnosis.

Ever heard of anyone who showed up at their embassy ineterview and the medical report from St Lukes wasn't there yet? If so, what usually happens? Any idea?

Also, should I give her a letter from me stating I still want to marry her despite her medical condition (even though it isn't serious)?

Thanks

Joe

Yup I have read of a few that the medical records were not there for the interview, delayed things a week maybe two. St. Luke's tries very hard to get the medical file to the embassy as quickly as possible.

As for writing a letter... nope, don't see any reason to write a letter regarding the medical.

They will give her the vaccination chart and xray DVD.

Wow! Everything worked out fine in the end. We did cancel the embassy interview because my fiancee had to use that trip to Manila to get the business between the doctor and St Luke's worked out. When she was done at St Lukes, they even scheduled a new embassy interview for her while she was still there. It is for October 29th. So all in all, even though she had a mass found in her abdomen at St Lukes, the whole ordeal has only been delayed 6 days total...and the mass is uterine fibroids, which are not a danger to her health in any way. We really thank God for all He has done.

Just wanted to post the conclusion to the matter...

Thanks to all who posted...
