Well, its way more than two years since our marriage after my wife came here on a K-1 visa from Russia in 2004 without a green card. AOS was filed November 2004 after marriage within 90 days of her arrival here. We went to the immigration office in NYC last month. They appologized (a lot of good that did us), said our paperwork was in order but was missplaced and said they would now try to find our case, which was sent to California. One more month passed since we visited that hell hole of a place in Manhattan, NYC. Now my wife is scheduled to have fingerprints taken. What should we expect? Do you think the case is actually moving and what sort of time line should we expect? I really do not want to have to pay for a third I-131 form to visit Russia with my wife and our now 13 month old baby this summer. By the way, you all helped convince us to take the trip to Immigration to find out what was going on with our case.

Thanks

Claudeth had to go twice for fingerprints, once for EAD and once for AOS. I think the AOS required more prints but it seemed to me they could of just combined the process! I will never figure out how the Government works

This is a good sign. I filed my AOS July 2004, had the first set of fingerprints that fall, then sat and waited. In October 2005 my file was transferred to California. I continued to wait, then in February 2006, was sent a second biometrics appointment for the AOS. I did the biometrics, then my AOS was approved in May, 2006 - without an interview. I suspect that they will move to approve your AOS very quickly once they get the fingerprints redone - they are only good for 15 months so your first set has expired.
