I864 question

Hi

I have a quick question abou the I864....what do they mean when they say your income needs to be 125% above the poverty line? We called Immigration 2 years ago and they told us (in numbers!!!!) that 125% above the poverty line is basically around $16,000 - $17,000 a year. A part time job then!! Is that true?

Here's the link to USCIS poverty guidlines for 2006. Read all of the I-864 and then look up your house hold size.....this will be your current numer of dependents off of your 1040 plus 1 more for your DF or Spouse.

If its just the two of you then yes - the income you need to meet is $16,500. Good Luck
