CHRIS MATTHEWS: I think Ted Cruz is brilliant. I think the President’s met his match in this guy. He set this thing up months ago with no budget agreement, therefore no appropriations, therefore the government would be completely exposed this morning at midnight last night to go to, to completely shut down. So he knows what he's doing. And it's about the baby, Obama’s baby. And you can't cut the baby in half. We learned that in Solomon. And they keep saying, “Please negotiate your baby. Please help us take it apart.”
So which is he - a problem for our republic or a brilliant guy that's Obama's match?

I guess with Matthews it depends on what direction the wind's blowing.

We all know that Chris Mathews always talks garbage.

In their rush to pass healthcare before they lost their veto proof majority in the Senate and before they lost the majority in the House where Nancy Pelosi could just "declare" that it had been "passed" without actually taking a vote, they neglected to FUND it. Brilliant.

The result...despite the great "love" Americans have for this healthcare plan, the Dems lost control of the House and lost veto proof comtrol of the Senate. TWICE. 2010 and 2012. They aren't feeling the love. This left it up to the Republicans to fund their plan. What geniuses! Pass a plan your rivals HATE and ask them to fund it for you. A perfect example of WHY they should not be handling anything important.

Given that no Republican ever voted to support it OR fund it...they truly can say it is "their baby" In fact it should be called "Democare"

But, to be fair, I think Sean Hannity is the dumb version of Chris Matthews.
