So yes, I had my oath ceremony today, and I'm so glad that the naturalization process is now over and that I'm now a citizen of the USA. The whole process only took 3 months for me. However, what I'd like to know is, how many days after the oath ceremony should you get your driver's license updated? On the USCIS website it says "Please wait at least ten days after your ceremony before going to the SSA to ensure that data reflecting your naturalization has been updated." Should the 10-day wait apply to the other documents also (driver's license, passport, and voter's registration)?

You can go ahead and do everything else before the SSA. I advice you to apply for a passport the first that way you get the most important second proof of your citizenship and then do your license and the other stuff. Passport agencies don't care about what the SSA says when you have a proof that you are a citizen (Naturalization certificate). when you recieve your passport you can take it to the SSA instead of the naturalization certificate and update your status. Driver's license is not really necessary for update unless you want to register for voting (I could be wrong on the importance, forgive me if I was)

Congratulation on your naturalization.

Thanks silkafi88.

I have another question that I forgot to mention. It's about the signature on the naturalization certificate. At the ceremony, they didn't tell us how to sign it. The signature next to my picture has my first name, middle initial, and last name. Can someone tell me if I should I sign the certificate the same way as the picture?

Or should I sign it with first name, middle name, and last name?

There is nothing that you need to get updated on DL.

Your DL should be for 6 yrs and thats it.

That is a good question I read somewhere that you should sign as in the picture. But 2 opinions are better then one. If you want to wait until somebody confirms what I said go ahead. If the USCIS local office is close by where you live I would suggest to stop by there and ask them to be a 100% sure.
