Hello guys,

I'm in the US now on a B1 visa

My expiration date is on Dec 18 .... and so do the length I'm allowed to stay in the US

can I get a new visa from inside the US , or can I extend my staying even if my Visa is expired ?

The expiration of the visa has no effect on your current status, it was simply the last date you could have applied to enter the US on.

You can file an I-539 (http://www.uscis.gov/i-539) to attempt to extend your nonimmigrant status past the expiration of your I-94, but these are not often granted for tourists.

You cannot get a new visa. A visa is for entering the US. The I-94 is what authorizes your stay in the US. So, you can not get a new visa while you are in the US.

You can apply for an extension of your authorized time in the US, but you better have a good reason. If USCIS suspects that you are abusing your visa to "live" in the US, then you are going to create a problem for yourself if you want to visit in the future.
