How to change the status of my TN visa?? I am a Mexican citizen getting married to an American.. HELP

Hello everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to help us out. I am confused and lawyers are very expensive.. so we would liek to do it ourselves but HOW.

So, I am Mexican and in the US with a TN visa issued by my company. I am engaged with my American boyfriend, we would like to have our wedding reception and the religious marriage in Mexico and in Michigan (where we live) the legal ceremony. So, what? should i get marry in Mexico first and then in the US? I would like to use my TN visa to go bak and forth and also go on my honeymoon.

It is all confusin.. I don't know if we should get marry in the US first, file for everything and then have the reception in Mexico?

Please.. HELP!!

A TN visa is a non-immigrant visa. How long have you been in the USA for?

I don't know the definite answer, but I know with most non-immigrant visas intent at the time of entry plays a big part in adjusting status. Leaving and then re-entering with the intent to get married seems like it could cause problems.
