Hey everyone!

We just got approved 2 days ago and are starting to prepare the major forms etc. I've already got my national police certificate. Now i'm trying to gather what we need for the I-I34 so i can let him know what he needs to send me. I know he will need to provide letter of employment, pay slips, bank statements etc. My main question relates to tax returns. The instructions say that tax returns are only required when a person is self-employed. However, i have read that alot of people are submitting either previous year tax return or the tax returns for the past 3 years. Can someone please clarify this for me and if there are any other supporting documents that i've missed on let me know! Thank you :) Oh and i know we also provide an updated letter of intent. The i-i34 is a bit confusing and i want my fiance to send me everything right as i'm all the way in Australia and wouldn't want him to resend things if anything is incorrect. Help is greatly appreciated! :)

Take a look at the Australian Embassy Info and it should list what documents are needed. It may provide you with a link to follow as the German Embassy did.

That information is usually country speicific. For instance Germany requires the most recent year of tax transcripts.

Hope this helps! Congrats!

My new wife just arrived in July on a K-1. I mailed her my original signed I-134 (not a copy) along with a transcript of my taxes for last year (you can request such, on the IRS website, and they will mail it to you for free in about 10 days). I actually requested the 3 previous years because you may need to show such proof after you marry and apply for AOS, but I only sent her the one from last year and I'm holding on to the other two, in case they ask for such at a later date.

I also included a signed letter from my employer and a copy of a recent paystub. That was all and we were approved.

Good Luck :)

For the national police certificate they want you to get a finger print one not the name check. Bc I'm having trouble at the moment with that. I have the check list, would you like me to send it to you or you can check it out on the website. By the way, I'm in Brisbane at the moment so I will have my interview at Sydney embassy. When you have your case number from NVC, you should fill in DS260 and then print out the confirmation sheet and book for medical examination. Because I heard it took a few week to book to get the health examination

Hi Tina! Yes i got the national police certificate based on both a name and fingerprint check so it's all good :) USCIS just shipped our case over to DOS on 20 September so hopefully they receive it soon so i can get the case number and book the medical.

Thank you for that information! I've let my fiance know to order those tax transcripts incase the embassy requires it and also to provide me with employment letter, paystubs, bank statement etc. He earns above the poverty line so i think that should be sufficient evidence.

Thank you Tichi&Rachel. I've been also using the embassy website as a resource to help me prepare the documents for our packet 3 :)
