Haven't got my passport back from Montreal since interview

I had interview in Montreal on Aug 30, and was told it was approved and my passport would be returned to me in 2 weeks. I was convinced and booked the air ticket on 18 Sep.

But so far I haven't got the passport, and I started freaking out, not sure if I can get it before the air ticket.

What should I do if I cannot get it by the end of this week?

Does anyone who had the interview on Aug 30 has got the passport back?

I would change or cancel your flight to use at another time until you get the passport back.

Contact Loomis and see if its there. We picked ours up before we received the email that it had been shipped.

It hasn't been two weeks yet. I was told a few days and got it two weeks later. If you can change your flight, I would try for that to put your mind as ease.

does CEAC say it's been issued?

The CEAC website shows as below, it is issued but with some content saying it is in administrative processing. But in interview I was told it was approved and the passport would be returned in 2 weeks, no additional document was asked for by the officer. Very confused.... Please who knows what this means??

have you contacted Loomis to see if they have your stuff? Did you check your email to see if you have a waybill? (check the junkmail too!)

Worse comes to worse, most airlines will let you change your flights (air Canada I think charges a $60 fee for this plus any fare difference, westjet is much the same).

Definitely contact Loomis and/or your junk mail. I know mine was in my Spam folder. I wonder why they told you 2 weeks. And if it is in administrative processing then perhaps there will be further delay. If I were you I would contact Montreal through their online communication form now because it takes a couple of days for them to respond. But call Loomis too. What if someone typed your email in wrong somewhere along the way? Anything can happen!

I called everywhere, Loomis, CSC, and CEAC, all of them don't have any information that shows the consulate has released my passport, they say it is likely I'm in AP.

But why? My interview was good, the CO said it was approved and gave me "welcome to USA" sheet and USCIS Immigrant Fee sheet.

I was born in China and in F1 category, I'm PR in Canada, could any of these raise a red flag?

I also sent on-line request form to Montreal, but I know last time they replied after 15 business day! I cannot expect sooner reply from them.

Some people say maybe ask a senator for help, my question is - a senator in which country, Canada or US? should I let my petitioner in US to contact the senator in US, or I should contact the senator in Canada?( I don't even know if we have senators in Canada)

I'm totally lost and desperate, air ticket is not a big deal any more comparing the fact that I don't know what is happening to my case.

I have to agree with MsHogan and Flames. The Chinese consulate and embassies are difficult for immigration to the USA. There really isn't anyone you can contact besides the school you're planning on attending. They may be able to help. Best of luck to you.

I'm not in a rush moving to the US, if the CO had told me that they would need more time to work on my case, I would be fine with that, and just continue my life in Canada (which I like). I thought if the CO were nice to u that should be the final step, but looks like there are more back-end works in their procedure.

The thing is I booked the air ticket too earlier, and to change the air ticket costs $200 plus the difference, this is too much, oh my!
