Congratulation! Another filer in March. It's not far for us!

I just curious. Last two weeks approvers are almost filer on 3/31/2014. These two weeks approvers are almost filer 3/15/2014 or before. I want to get a clue how USCIS process our cases. It depends on filer's field office or what?

There is no rhyme or reason to the processing. If it annoys us, then I can only imagine how it would feel to work there, where there seems to be no order. I think however, it might have a lot to do about where your case goes and the processing times of that particular office. I think the other day we had a June filer who was approved and that was rather weird, I can only think that it was the field office it had gone too. Which in itself opens a question up, how do they determine which case files leave the NBC to go to the field offices.

Okay so I decided to give them a call, got through to a Tier 2 for the first time EVER, He asked me if Id filed a SR before and I said yes and they sent me a decision according to my online tracking, guess what, he told me "They never answered it thats why you never got a response" So I guess I was seriously waiting for a ghost letter... anyways he's put an SR in for me and said they have to respond as a tier 2 did it, and I decided to ask if he could tell me where my case was and he said no, his response was something like "Oh well you're still in processing but you're in Texas and thats a border state so they are behind"

I now have As of February 20, 2015, your Filing Question, referral number WKD-----DAL, is currently not assigned for processing.

What does the WKD mean at the start there, something to do with Workload maybe? Never seen that on any of my SR's before

That is so weird, how can your status change and they say you have a letter gone out? Its like they are bored and just doing that for the fun of it I was joking when I said a ghost letter but perhaps it's not far from the truth. I guess once Dallas processing times change you can ring them back, but hopefully it will be sorted by then, not sure what WKD is other than a drink of vodka mixed with pop!! Hmmm.......

wondering if WKD might be the initials of the tier 2 officer perhaps?

I literally told them I had filed one in december but just got a generic email which was true, and then I got that one notice saying they sent out a response on February 11th but I've not received anything and he straight up told me there's nothing been answered on my case.

What a bunch of ........... I am also in Texas, and the local office in El Paso, TX is already processing applications from July 2014. Did you ask if your application was still in NBC? I always ask and they always confirm it's still there rotting away.

At this point I highly doubt Tier 2 can do anything for us. They can see a bit more information vs Tier 1, but I think that's about it.

I said to him "Can you tell me where my case actually is, like what field office?" and he said "I can't but it's still processing and you're jurisdiction is Texas which is a border country and there is workload factors"

What to say, that they cant tell you where it is or how long it will take, I dont understand why a Tier 2 doesn't have the authority to look at your documents and approve, deny or set up an interview! Answering service requests just makes their back logs pile up!

I just typed the following into a memo for a new employer. Over optimistic?

"My application to become a permanent resident is awaiting adjudication at the US Citizenship & Immigration Service. Once this is approved I will become a ‘permanent resident’ and will be issued a permanent resident (green) card. I expect this to occur by June 2015 at the latest and I shall submit a new I-9 at that time. If my permanent residency has not been approved by then I will be sent another Employment Authorization Card which will extend my authority to work by a further year.

I attach a copy of Form I-797C which proves I have submitted an application to become a permanent resident".

Spoiler

What to say, that they cant tell you where it is or how long it will take, I dont understand why a Tier 2 doesn't have the authority to look at your documents and approve, deny or set up an interview! Answering service requests just makes their back logs pile up!

That's the worst thing Shell, his words were "It might just be a generic response because we are backloaded"
