My tourist visa got cancelled, what are my chances of getting an approved k1 visa?

On my second trip to the US to visit my boyfriend, the airport officer cancelled my visa so I was sent back to my country on the next available flight. Now, me and mu fiance decided that we want to get married. My question is, what are my chances of getting an approved k1 visa with a cancelled tourist visa?

Is it gonna be something that I should worry about? Any similar experience? Thank you!

Because just to get out of questioning quickly, I just told them that I was visiting a relative when in fact I was gonna visit my boyfriend. Then they told me that my last name sounded middle eastern. Series of questioning took place. Though they've clarified and proved that I'm visiting my boyfriend, they still sent me home.

I know they were trying to be more strict because it was right after the Boston Bombing incident. That unfortunate event happened. So just wanted to know if a cancelled tourist visa would affect our k1 application.

Provided your visa was cancelled without prejudice then there shouldn't be an issue.

The petition will likely be approved without a problem. The issue will come up during your visa interview -- they will want to know why the visa was cancelled -- which they likely already know from the POE, but will want to hear from your perspective. The real problem will be if the POE officer or the visa officer think that what you did met the definition of fraud/misrepresentation, since it's somewhat unusual for a visa to be cancelled just because you said you were visiting a relative instead of a boyfriend. They may think there was more to I than what you said. If they did/do think that, you are ineligible without a waiver.
