F1 Visa - can I enter the US in a different city than the one where my school is ?

Hi everyone

I just got my student Visa approved. still cant believe it

I am about to get a flight ticket. my school is in DC but I planing to go visit my sister in Chicago first.

do you guys think that could be an issue? or can I enter the US in any city ?

also should I expect any interview when i get there?

You can enter at any POE; plenty of people do to get a cheaper flight or whatnot.

You can go to Chicago first if you want to, this is not an issue.

Yes sure can, but remember, you have a certain period when you have to check in with your school's immigration counselor after you arrive into the U.S.

Out of curiosity, school should have already started. Why would you go and visit someone else and become even more later than you already are?

My class will only start October 7th so I am thinking to maybe stop by my sister for a couple days before starting school
