Form I-864? or Form I-864a?

Hi VJ members,

My wife citizenship interview is next month. If approves she want to bring her parent to the US. She is a homemaker.I will be the main sponsor. Which forms do we need to submit? Do she submit I-864 and I will submit I-863a? or She submit noth and I submit I-864 as the main sponsor?

the petitioner is always the primary sponsor, even if she makes $0, she must submit the i864 as sponsor and you the i864A as her co sponsor

also, she has to wait until her oath ceremony. she isn't a USC until the Oath Ceremony where she will hand in her GC and she will receive her Certificate of Naturalization at the end of the ceremony.

if she needs to travel prior to the Oath, she will use her GC to enter the US, even if she passed the test and interview.

You will need 2 of everything.

The cases for the parents are not linked. It's not a single case. There are two independent cases.

A sponsor fills out I-864. A joint sponsor also fills out I-864. A sponsor's household member fills out I-864A. Since you are her (the sponsor's) spouse, it is best to do it as a household member; that way you can combine your income with hers.
