Hey VJ...I've noticed that there haven't been many updates about interviews lately. I'm curious as to how cold-hearted/virtuous the interviewers have been for the past few months. Please share if you recently had an interview or have an impending interview within the next few weeks. I'm particularly curious to read or know about a male fiance being interviewed without his female fiancee present. Reading reviews puts my heart at ease a little, and helps me prep. Hope all is well with all of you on this crazy journey.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My husband had his interview for his kids in June. He said they are professional but still try to trick people. I suggest be prepared for everything. For example I had prepared an entire book of evidence including copies of everything we submitted, money transfers, pictures, letters and affidavits he said they never looked at that. The guy asked where was his evidence, and my husband said kind of forceful "you have everything what do you want now". The guys then tried to interview my daughter who was under 12 and asked "where does your mother live in the U.S." They call me Mom, so she starts to answer and my husband had to say no-no there mother is not in the US their step-mother is, I their father is in the US. Every second from the time he steps in front of the people he will be in the midst of the interview.

Thanks so much for sharing Evoria! I've heard that they don't look at a lot of information. Do they look at the evidence if the American fiancee isn't present or are they immediately doubtful that the relationship is fake? Anyone else have any insight?

I think having the US fiancé at the interview is a help. They look at how long have you known each other? How well you know each other? How much evidence you have? If you can go, go.

Quite a few people have posted about the Accra Embassy's in the past few months, check under 'Consulate Reviews' section here in the Ghana country portal page... I believe if you're a Ghana country member you should be getting emails when each member adds a review. I know i do, and as soon as I get that email I log in and read, and re-read and re-read the reviews... Good Luck, and I hope that you will post you and your fiance's review once he goes through the process. I plan to attend my fiance's interview when the time comes, even if it breaks the bank, the most important thing to me is getting him here, even if we sacrifice for the wedding and the honeymoon!!

Thanks Tosh Love for sharing. I really do wish you and your fiance the best. I have read the reviews. I guess I was looking for scenarios of the fiance interviewing alone. Thanks for helping
