I did send all of the AOS documents of course since that step comes before the interview letter...

But the interview letter came with a page that said this:

Bring updated Federal income tax information to the interview. If a sponsor filed an I-864 (Affidavit of Support) and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of a Federal income tax return, bring the sponsor's most recent Federal income tax return to the visa interview.

---------------------

This is what I am confused about. Do I have to give my husband the form my friend (as the sponsor) filled out or just give my husband my friends most recent tax return??

and provided the NVC with proof of an IRS Federal income tax extension in lieu of (instead of) a Federal income tax return

If you filed the federal tax return with the I864 then you do not have to bring the tax return again. Some people do not have their tax return with their I485 because they file at the time of year before tax returns are due or they file extensions. If you sent an actual tax return with the I485 (a 2012 return) then you do not have to bring anything else.

If the police certificate that you already filed is less than a year old (according to the letter) then you do not have to bring it again either

I sent in my most recent pay stub and tax form and also my friend (engineer guy) who filled out AOS form I 864 sent his most recent tax returns with the form, so does this mean we just ignore this part and my hubby doesn't have to bring any tax stuff ?

Also, my husband got the police certificate about two months ago when he had to submit his visa app with all the required documents.

Hey congrats on your upcoming interview - can you find out by calling the embassy if they still require police certificates?

The NVC told me that the most recent updated policy is that they don't but as I saw on your interview notice that they are still asking for it thats why I didn't get the police certificate yet. If they do require still require it I will have to get it.

Thanks

Ahh! thank you, for your quick responses. smile.png

InshaAllah, just make duah for his acceptance please. His interview is on the 22nd of this month, we are CR-1

It said in the notice so just to be on the safe side, I'm going to tell my husband to bring the police certificate. You should have also had that submitted with the Visa Application form since that was also a required doc and part of the list. If you want to be extra sure, just call the NVC but I think it's better to bring it just to be on the safe side, once again. Good luck!

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yes, it's my wedding pic :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Darnell -- I attached all 4 pages and they should be showing up in order. They are kind of stuck together but the last one is the last page (page 4)
Sure - hence my question.
Page 4 contains a list of documents with a Code in each line.
Page 3 contains a list of doc status with a Code in each line.
So, if you decode page 4 with the codes in Page 3 - it should give you (after decoding) a path of what to do about documents.
Again, I ask - have you decoded page 4 against Page 3?
