thanks for every1's help. I finally got my packet together and mailed out a week ago. Had a question howver. In looking at the USCIS website the Laguna Niguel Center's timeline states that they are just now processing packets from April, 2006. Does that mean that it will be about 6-7 months before my packet evens get a touch or NOA or my check cashed?

Hello Tommy. I submitted mine on May 5. I was approved from the California Service Center October 17.

Hi Tommy

the processing dates given on the service centre websites give a "worst possible scenario". Processing has speeded up recently so it should be much less than they are suggesting. The point of the dates on the website is to protect themselves from complaints as if there is a delay they can say they are still within the published times.

It's a good idea to start filling in your timeline here then it will be easy for you to compare how long other petitions are taking.

You will have your check cashed and recieve a NOA1 within a few weeks. Then the waiting begins. The USCIS processing time of 6 months is part of a recent reorganization of the system. Some petitions could take 6 months but most are completed between 60-90 days.
