Waiting for Packet 4?

Hi everybody,

I sent packet 3 back the day after I received it as I had everything ready, on June the, 28th and I am still waiting for Packet 4.

I assume that the 4th of July holiday and the time of the year make everything go slower than it is already but, soon, it will be 1 month. We are really worried. The thing is that the Paris embassy does not respond to emails and do not communicate information on the phone, I mean, what if i got lost or something?!

Do you think that is normal for this particular embassy? I've seen most people receiving Packet 4 two weeks after they sent Packet 3. What should we do?

The process is already really long, we just want to be together now.

It's perfectly normal with Paris, no worries. You should compare your timeline with people who recently dealt with this embassy, not others.

I know it's difficult, but it will come. One month between P3 and P4 is about the norm these days.

Thank you for your reply. I did compare with recent French timelines and I see it usually takes 2 weeks. If I don't count th 4th of July I should receive the packet very soon. I guess we're just freaking out as we just want to finally be together. I'll let you know.

Yes, it's easy to freak out for every step in this process, but in the end, you will wonder why you worried so much. :-)

You can call the DOS also to have an update on your case. Just ask them what's the last update on your case. They are able to tell you "your interview date has been set for ...." meaning your packet 4 was issued. Be careful though, some agents are not very reliable and may just tell you your packet 3 has been sent (but not received), or even that K-1 don't receive P3! Do not worry if that's the case...I always had some knowledgeable agents on the line, but some others didn't get as lucky.

My fiancé called and he apparently didn't talk to the right person because she mentionned dates that did not make any sense. Anyway, he is going to call again to have someone else and we are sending a letter to the senator so something finally happens. It is so long. Thank you so much for your help. Okay so, my fiancé called back a few days ago and had someone better informed on the phone. They said we had a scheduled appointment scheduled and that the notice was sent out on this day! So, as probably a lot of us, I've waited to receive the notice to make sure it was really happening.

I received it today!! My appointment is on the 6th of August! I am so excited but also realy nervous about everything now.

I wonder which doctor I should pick and I am also thinking that I will probably have to wait until September before I can travel because it is going to be so expensive otherwise

Great!!! The doctor doesn't really matter, I personnaly picked Dr. Slattery after looking at the address. But I would not recommend him (he made lots of mistakes on my vaccination page).

Well, he made a bunch of mistakes copying my vaccination dates. My family doctor's writing is bad, but still, there were some dates from beforeI I was even born! So just make sure you verify your DS-3025 before leaving...

Okay, I guess I'll look at all the vaccines and the dates myself to check the form. Did this cause you problems while you were going through AOS? It's pretty bad.

No, because I noticed the mistakes the day after the medical, and I went back there to have all fixed on a new form the morning before my K-1 interview!
