Had my medical first week of July...no St Luke's did not inspect mouth or teeth during the physical examination but they asked if ur using dentures...though of course there is always a possibility that the doctors will inspect the mouth and teeth...doctors can inspect any part of ur body during physical examination.

Well, i might say, based from the previous posts, that it really depends on the doctor because it is not all of us had our mouths checked..And i don't want to think i am special...

Me and my 2-yr-old child had our medical exam last July 3-5. Yes, they checked my mouth and teeth.. everything. The doctor asked me to open my mouth, stick out my tongue and say, ahh.. and inspected if I still have a complete set of teeth.

Maybe i should ask them when i will get my culture result why the doctor did not check my mouth and teeth..It was included in the payment right?..The doctor just let me swallow, paying attention in my neck, maybe to check the glossopharyngeal nerve, but not my mouth and teeth mad.gif

From a medical standpoint, examining the mouth can tell many things, but to name just one, Measles. A peculiar symptom of measles, even before the full rash, are "Koplik's Spots". These are tiny white spots, inside the cheeks just by the molars. If Koplik's spots are seen, its definitive for measles.

Right..good.gif ...But i don't think they will check your mouth for Koplik's spots when you are not manifesting the initial signs and symptoms like runny nose, fever and cough..

My point is, examining the mouth is just a run through and not a thorough one because my experience, they did not check my mouth and i had my medical last May 28
