Can I track my case if we filed DCF

We filed for CR1 in Albania. We have a case number and have already submitted packet 3. We tried tracking the case on USCIS, but it doesn't find our case number, Is that only for people who filed in the states? Any idea how long it should be until we get packet 4? They received our packet 3 on Nov.6.

Thanks

Since the case is a Direct Consulate Filing it is being handled by the consulate and Department of state.

USCIS wont have any case information because it is not in their hands.

Besides, even in normal cases like K-1, K-3, and CR-1/IR-1 USCIS would have no information after the case gets sent on to the NVC and consulate, packet 3 or 4.

You can only get status info from the Department of State (NVC, Consulate, Embassy) not Homeland Security (USCIS)

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

So, I have to call them or is there a way to track a case on one of their sites. I've tried dealing with the Dept. of State before regarding our case and they told me I had to ask the embassy...

hi avoci,

I know the waiting is driving you crazy about right now, but checking other Embassy timelines won't help. What did they tell you your timeline would be when you filed the I-130? The best thing to do is give the Immigrant Visa Unit a call or email.

DCF cases can't be tracked with the online CIS site for the reasons explained above.

Well, when we filed they told us 6-12 months (and we filed in July). BUT, we already received packet 3 and turned it in (which is the 2nd to last step). I have spoken to a few people who also filed in Albania. One girl turned her packet 3 in one month before us and her interview was yesterday. Sooooooooo, I'm just getting anxious. Plus, I will be in Albania for the winet holidays and really don't want to have to leave my husband (again)...

Thanks,

Amy
