Hi guys, This is the exact reply I got from the embassy for those of you who wanted to see it:

Kindly note that the admin processing is still being done and has nothing to do with the embassy closure .

I did get this reply a week AFTER I emailed them. So maybe they are working inside the embassy now, not sure. Only hoping for the best. I also noticed that the emails are not bouncing back anymore. Instead we are now getting an automated msg. when we try to send them an email. Good luck to all of you.

Hello, We got an update on the DOS website, the date changed from 26 june to July 14 2013 but still AP

And finally an email today from cairo....

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Please note that your case is currently undergoing mandatory administrative processing. The time needed to review an individual’s case is difficult to predict. Once this process is completed, we will process your case to conclusion. While we understand the personal inconvenience that the present process can cause, we are certain that you will agree that we must exercise due diligence in ensuring that U.S. national security is enhanced, not compromised, by our visa processing.

Our case is still at the NVC so we have a loooong wait ahead still if it ends up going to Cairo. They haven't emailed us back yet. :( I'm thinking of trying some other countries now to see if anyone will reply. I don't want it to go to Cairo!!!

We met when Heather travelled to Egypt to be an au pair!

My guess is that you wont be scheduled and interview anytime soon and if they do the chances of it getting cancelled are high.....you financial situation is unfortunate. get a new job asap and get a letter of employment and save all the new paycheck stubs and whenever the interview is make sure u send it to the embassy with the interview and ask your husband to demand the documents be put with the file....not unless the current file shows already u get enough income, than get all this info and only give it if they question it. Its just my opinion, but your situation is like mine, i lost my job right before the interview.....and i found a job fast but it wass till a hassle.....letter of employment and all paycheck stubs for the whole year even from old jobs and all sources of money. you will need them.

I know that with things being the way they are I wont get scheduled anytime soon, that is why I want to transfer the case to a different embassy and I have a joint sponsor that I already sent their paper work with my aos because I already had low income when I filed.
