I've been following the line-by-line guide on http://www.**.com/forms , but there are still a few things I'm not sure of due to my wife having 2 prior marriages and a weird job history... I'd appreciate some help smile.png

I-130

Section C: #7. Other Names Used (including maiden name)

  • In addition to the maiden name, do I need to include her name with her using the Last Name of each of her 2 prior husbands? I don't think she filed for a legal name change but her name on both marriage certificates have her using them.
Section C: #15. Name and address of present employer (if any)
  • Is this for the petitioner or beneficiary? I realize this is under Section C, but I'm wondering why ask her employment info and not mine?
G-325A for wife

Line 7: Applicant's last address outside the United States of more than 1 year.

  • Do I leave this blank or 'None' if she's never been to the US or do I put her current address abroad?
Line 8: Applicant's employment last five years.
  • She had two 6 month contracts in Japan about more than 8 years ago, she doesn't know the agency/employer name or address. Do these count? What should I put in?
Line 10: Signature of Applicant.
  • The I-130 requires 2 G-325A forms, for her form, is this my signature or hers?

I-130

Section C: #7. Other Names Used (including maiden name)

  • In addition to the maiden name, do I need to include her name with her using the Last Name of each of her 2 prior husbands? I don't think she filed for a legal name change but her name on both marriage certificates have her using them. - Yes include any other names she had used. They use this to do background checks and she needs to list any name she's used. (also good to note, you need to include photocopies of her 2 final divorce decrees)

Section C: #15. Name and address of present employer (if any)

  • Is this for the petitioner or beneficiary? I realize this is under Section C, but I'm wondering why ask her employment info and not mine? - this is the beneficiary's. My husband however (the USC) put his and other people have as well. I'm sure they can figure it out from the G-325a as reference.

G-325A for wife

Line 7: Applicant's last address outside the United States of more than 1 year.

  • Do I leave this blank or 'None' if she's never been to the US or do I put her current address abroad? - her current address abroad

Line 8: Applicant's employment last five years.

  • She had two 6 month contracts in Japan about more than 8 years ago, she doesn't know the agency/employer name or address. Do these count? What should I put in? - ONLY employment the last 5 years. Nothing older.

Line 10: Signature of Applicant.

  • The I-130 requires 2 G-325A forms, for her form, is this my signature or hers? - you sign yours. She signs her. Original signatures.

Thank you for the quick response!!!

Only 1 question though on "(also good to note, you need to include photocopies of her 2 final divorce decrees)". Did you mean include with the I-130 application? or have the photocopies ready for the interview later? Because I don't see anything in the I-130 instructions that mentions to include it, unless it is a little tip you guys on this forum learned by experience :)

You need copies of ALL divorce decrees for the I-130. For the DS-230 they will need originals from the beneficiary only.

In the instructions look on page 2, on the right hand side,

1. A spouse, submit the following documentation:

A. A copy of your marriage certificate

B. If either you or your spouse were previously married, submit copies of documents showing that all prior marriages were legally terminated

C. A passport style photo......
