What if one member of the jury sees it like those here who think GZ acted in self defense? A very likely possibility.

I don't think it will be a hung jury and don't think any jurors went into this trial with any preconceived ideas of guilt or innocence, but if they listen to that interview with police, there is substantial doubt based on conflicting evidence and GZ's own words, that he reasonably feared for his life to the point where using lethal force was justifiable - that there were no other alternatives at his disposal that evening. When framed that way - I believe this is an open and shut case.

Explain to me how Zimmermann's truck was located where it was located. He claims that he encountered Martin as he was heading to the grocery store. Looking at where Zimmermann's residence is (below map) and where the two entrances to the neighborhood are, there is really no conceivable way to reasonably explain why his vehicle was where it was. So he was either not actually going to the grocery store as he has stated to police or he had followed Martin in his vehicle prior to calling the police. Simple fact is that you don't get from his residence to either of the entrances via Twin Tree Lane. The man is lying.

Martin was hanging out at the mailboxes, by the community center. That area was covered, and out of the rain. Zimmerman saw him as he was approaching the clubhouse. Instead of turning left and going to the grocery store, he pulled into parking area in front of the club house to call the cops. When Martin left the cover of the mailbox area and started walking down Twin Trees lane, Zimmerman decided to follow him in his car.

This is totally different situation where the defendant is not denying that he shot the victim - he's got to convince the jurors that he did out of self defense. It's a sort of backwards situation because the jury only needs to have reasonable doubt that he in fact killed TM in self defense. So far, there is not one single, compelling evidence that even remotely suggests that. I keep saying this, but it really comes down to his call to the police, what he said to the dispatcher and his actions leading up to the altercation. GZ knows that if he were to admit that in fact he did get out of his vehicle to pursue TM, his claim of self defense looks silly, and that's why he tried to convince investigators during his interview that he was just wanted to give them an address, that he didn't want to give the dispatcher his location because 'he was afraid the young punk might follow him home.' He didn't return to his car quickly because he was fumbling for a flashlight, in spite of his fear of the young punk. It's really laughable when listened to - his explanations of why he did or didn't do certain things that night.
