Hi, I’m currently in the USA visiting my wife. Can I send the DS-230 Application For Immigrant Visa And Alien Registration from here in the USA, or does it have to be sent and postmarked from my home country? It would be quicker, cheaper and easier to send it from here, but maybe it has to be sent from the UK (home country). Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

Doesn't matter where the IV package is sent from, as long as NVC gets it, that's all they care about.

Just in case you didn't know, there's more than just the DS-230 that needs to be included in the IV package.

Yes, you can send the DS 230 from the USA as long as NVC gets it, that's all that matters.

Also, the DS 230 should be sent with all civil documents that is marriage cert, police record, divorce decree, adoption records etc. Please ensure you visit www.immigrantvisas.state.gov and go through the information thoroughly to avoid any unnecessary delays.

The DS-230 requires an original signature. The signature can't be the product of a printer.

The applicant will need to send a DS-230 with an original signature in.

My brother signed his DS-230 and mailed it to me in the US. I reviewed it and mailed it in.

One way or the other, it has to be mailed to the US.

Quicker and cheaper would be nice, but there's no way for you to avoid paying to mail it to the US.
