Depend on what kind of wine you want to bring back. If it is some stuff you can purchase from Duty Free, then you should get it at the Duty Free in Vietnam. It is much cheaper then get it from the State or in Hong Kong or in China. Max is 2 bottles, and 2 cartton (10 Pak) of cigarette. I will update the forum by the end of this week. :) hehehh if i smuggle some more wine back home.

Last time, I purchased a bottle of Cordon Bleu in Hong Kong. It cost like 20 dollars more when i can get a Tan Son Nhat at a cheaper price. Anyway, another thing is with all the security reason. They dont' allow you to carry it as a carry on. You have to have it in the luggage and it may break. So get it at the Tan Son Nhat, it is better option.

I don't know what kind of wine you are trying to bring to Vietnam. You can pretty much buy what you need there quite cheaply.

Last week, I bought 20 bottles for my engagement party, a mix of wine and champaign for a total of $115, around $6 avg for each. While shopping, I saw all kinds from California, French, Italian, Spanish, etc... There is a section of town that has quite a few stores (10+) selling wine and liquors. They even deliver for a very small fee. On a large order, it is with free delivery.

It just seems like too much trouble trying to bring in unless it is so special, not found anywhere there.

I am pretty sure that they don't have it based on what I saw on their website. They prefer well known brands. I found lots of California brands and French brands.
