Local Office? Filing from Canada

It's possible. You could call the USCIS and talk to a tier 2 and inquire where your petition is. Normally though the ones that stay at the NBC are approved in 2-3 months tops.

We used our address in Montreal as our current address on the biographical information for both my husband and I. We used my Mom's address as the address as the perm address in us where we intend to live....so are we still screwed?

Transferring of petitions is kind of flippant when it comes to 'abroad' filers.

I would check out this thread:

Start from the last page, work your way back in recent approvals (over the past 5 months or so), look for canadians.

Send them a PM and ask them what they did.

Anybody? You guys have me freaked out....

No reason to be freaked out.

Just that It may take longer than it could have otherwise. That's all. Not that it won't be approved. Nothing to worry about really considering you guys live together.

It still might have been sent to a local office if NBC was too busy as well.

You will likely have to send some with the AOS package at the NVC.

Just wondering if anyone can answer the question above, our attorney says the application will stay at the National Benefits Center because our physical address is in CA but I am worried it has gone to the NCY office as there have been more than a few applications sent after ours that have already been approved.

I assume you're trying to say CAN and not California (CA).

It should stay at NBC, but none of us can assure you that.

Nola's should have stayed at NBC and it took trips all over the place.

Canada has never been a for sure thing on abroad auto-expedite.

It's always just sorta been hit or miss.

I did see an increase in them since August though, so Good Luck!
