Not knowing how to proceed, I will welcome any input.

It's been over 2 months already since I sent my request to reschedule my biometrics appt. and still waiting for the new one. My local office is almost 4 hrs away, so I am hesitant to just try a walk in, in case they refuse. What should I do?

1) Try the walk in (would somehow mess thing up, if my request for reschedule is somewhere else?)

2) Use the infopass to go there and once there try to get the biometrics done? Can you schedule the infopass for any day and time? How far in advance it needs to be done?

3) Keep waiting and be at their mercy? (My paperwork was processed and got my case number March 23).

Thanks.

1, I wouldn't if its really 4 hours away.

2, you have to look on the infopass website. Most of the time they do not let you do biometrics when booking an infopass. But you might be able to get them to schedule you an appointment.

3, its recommended that you really do not change your appointment dates because they have complete control over scheduling and are usually booked very far ahead.

Its totally up to you what you want to do/try. You can also call USCIS and speak to a supervisor.

Thank you for your input. I guess if I am going to risk the long drive, I could at least try to go with the Infopass and perhaps they let me do the biometrics. I read somewhere in this forum someone was able to do it. I already called the 800 number and got nowhere.

I knew it could be problematic to change appts, that's why when I requested it, was for a major reason. I had no idea that the delay couldnow take months, when my original appt was scheduled just 3 week after sending my application in.

You might be able to walk-in and do the bio appointment. Make sure you bring evidence so you can justify not bring able to attend the original appointment, if asked.

Thanks again for your suggestions, I am going to wait one more week, then try the Infopass and risk wasting the time going to the office. I still can not understand why the process can be delayed for months and months, just for requesting another day for the biometrics, even if they would have moved me to the bottom of the pile again, I imagine it could have been handled as an April application, and be almost done by now. I never liked bureacracy.
