I love flying and am usually so excited that I forget about smoking. At least until I get to the next gate or at my destination.

Thats the way I was. I would smoke my brains out just before I get onto the 14 hour flight to PI. Once I was on the plane and knew there was no chance to have a smoke I just forgot about it. But an hour or so before we landed I started getting the "itch" again. I couldn't wait to light up when I got out of the airport.

On a personal note I will not have that problem the next time I fly. Tomorrow is my two week mark without a smoke! I have good days and I have bad days but so far I have resisted.

When I used to smoke, I would just take a sleeping pill or something to make me drousy as soon as I got on the plane, then sleep pretty much the whole flight.

Congratulations! Two weeks without a cigarette - that is fantastic! Keep up the good work!

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Here is what I did..... I bought a box of the stage 2 patches, on the day you fly, once you have had the last smoke that you can go to the bathroom and apply the patch.... make sure you put it on somewhere that is not too hairy (top of the arm is good) leave the patch in place for the whole flight... once you have landed at your destination remove the patch BEFORE you have your first smoke...

Doing it with the stage 2 patch will not make you feel sick but it will keep your nicotine level up so you don't go crazy.... it will also give you an insight to how good the patches work and if at a latter date you think it time to stop you will at least have an idea how you would cope for the first day or so....

Good luck with the flight...
