I filed for AOS. Two weeks later I got all my documents back in the mail. Everything seems to have been looked at. On top of the I-485, the I-765, and the I-130 there is a seperate page, stating: "Your X is being returned to you for the following reason: check amount is incorrect, or has not been provided". The check is stapled on the first page. It's over the amount of $1070, address and everything else is correct.

What could be the problem? What would be the best thing to do next?

thank you in advance

How much did you send?

For I-485/I-765, it should be $1,070.

For the I-130, it should be $420.

When sending in the I-485 with the I-130 it seems they want two seperate checks--one for $1070 for the I-484 and I-765 (and I-131), and one for $420 for the I-130 (unless you mean AP and the I-131--then the amount should have been $1070 and not over. They are very picky about the payee name on the check and the amounts).

I would send in two checks as you are submitting two seperate appications. One is the I-485 with the I765 and I-131, and the other is the I-130.

Good luck,

Dave
