Hello All,

I am filing out the I-864 form i dont meet the poverty guide line requirment .. so tht why my cousion is goin to be my co-sponser .. cousion dont live with us at the same address .. what form did he need to fill out i am so confused is he has to fill I-864 or I-864 A ,, please help me thanksss...

He fills out the I-864. The I-864a is only for combining household income, like if both your parents were needed to help you out.

He'll also need to include his IRS transcripts from the past three years (2012, 2011, 2010), an employment letter from his boss, pay stubs from the past six months (optional, but good evidence to add), and proof that he's a US citizen (a photocopy of the biographical page from his passport works fine).

Zollo80 its strongly suggested the cosponcer for the financial support document be a parent ... in my experience I have seen a lot of people end up in Administration process and that is usually a good excuse to leave the case pending. Also they look for someone who makes more then 40k a year which is above the necessary amount and minimum amount.

Is this a Pakistan specific suggestion?

Sn530 ... my cousin he is a doctor .. and he did applied before my others cousions they never had any problem .... my mom and dad dont work so that why i cant show there income.... my mom has a house and stocks can i use as a assets ... to file the I-864A ??

If you are using your cousin as your joint sponsor, he must meet the guidelines INCLUDING all the other cousins he has sponsored. Example: if he's already joint sponsored 5 cousins, his household count is 6.

He would sign a completed I-864.
