Hi, so I applied for my husband at the beginning of 2011. he had his interview on April 30 2012, and its been in AP for more then a year. Kabul embassy called him about 1 month ago to do a second medical exam. HE did the medical and they sent it to the Embassy so i told my husband to go the the embassy and just ask of they recieved the medical results and they did and they asked for his passport and told him will noticify you shortly regarding your visa!! so does this look like a good sign becasue hes been in AP for more then a year now.. any advice

well i dont know for sure but i think if they took his passport and they already have the exam and everything else means that they will approve his visa and stamp it and call him to come and get it... now this is just my opinion..

It's suggestive. From other people's experiences, it seems that they do sometimes hold the passport for a long time, but this is not as common as when they decide to go ahead and process the visa.

I'm a dual US/Hungarian citizen (both by birth; Hungarian citizenship verification TBA), and my husband is a dual British/Irish citizen (by treaty) from Northern Ireland. We are atheists.
