I-886 Assets advice

Hi, we're using assets to supplement the income on the I-864. We have a car and 2 motorcycles as well as bank savings. For the vehicles, do we put what we paid for them ( they were purchased in December and February after I arrived in the US ) or their blue book/NADA recommended price for their value?

They won't count the one car because to lose it would be a hardship on you, as you wouldn't have transportation. The motorcycles should work. You should go with current value if they are paid in full, or what you could bet back after sell them if you are still making payments.

Thanks for your reply. We have 2 cars, my husbands and the one we bought for me when we arrived. They are paid in full as are the motorcycles. So we will go by current market price. What would I need to provide, besides the titles for proof of ownership, as evidence of the current value....do they need evidence, will a print out of the web page from Blue Book or NADA be sufficient?

I would think you'd need a professional appraisal, but I am not sure. There are details about that in the instructions, are they of any help?

There are details about using assets but nothing specific as far as what to provide. I'll send in the receipt of purchase and title and a copy of the blue book website page.
