expedite request

icalled uscis and request an expedition on my case and ijsut got an eamil from them saying the status of my request is ( we have request your file) so what this mean? have they approve my expedite request or not? thnx

If it says they have requested your file, then that is what happened- they are pulling it out of line to look at it and see if you qualify for expedite or not. If yes, they will action it and process your file., If no, they will put it back into line after however long it takes them to decide on the expedite.

This only means that you have been acknowledged.... your next step will b after they request supporting info for the circumstances in which u feel ur petition shuld b expedited, to send what ever documentation you have to support your request and then they take around 30 days to approve or deny the request. what are your circumstances? under what grounds are u requesting an expedite? im interested to know becus i recently inquired about an expedite to a tier II USCIS supervisor and her answers were direct and after talking to her i felt it may be risky to request an expedite for the simply fact that they take ur case off the shelf then place it back in line but not til they recieve your info on the expedite and make the decision so if its not approved for expedite it may slow your case down. i was afraid of denial and chose not to request expedite. plus i asked on here and others advised against it. still i am curious as to what a legit reason for expedite would b.. good luck on your journey plz keep us posted on how well this request goes...
