hi all....our interview is the 27th....i know there is someone else on that date as well.....just cant remember who for the life of me... :wacko: ...any last minute suggestions in staying calm....oh...i went photocopy crazy...and made a copy of everything i am bringing to interview...was that neccessary :blink: or is it only certain documents that should be copied.......and congrats to all whos interviews went well....has anyone heard from karen and david..........thanks ...debbie (F)(F)

my son lance joined the vermont national guard..04/25/07

he is leaving for oklahoma for basic training...09/19/07

graduated basic, left for texas to study to become a medic.......12/03/07

he is now a certified medic!!!!......

lifting conditions...dec 26th, 2008 for debbie and son Lance

sent pkg on........ dec 26th, 2008

Karen and david, is that leafgirl? if so she was successfull!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Billsgirl, the only original they kept of mine (and I did have a photocopy) was the police certificate. All else I gave them both copies and originals and they returned the originals. They didn't even look at any of my pictures or proof we have an ongoing relationship but I took it all for them to keep just in case.

Flames, no Karen & David are another couple going through the process.

K-1 journey, AOS/EAD and ROC in my timeline

2011 March 31 - Sent off Naturalization pkg overnight to Texas

2011 April 1 - Arrived in Texas at 10:21 am

2011 April 1 - NOA (rec'd via snail mail April 8)

2011 April 7 - Cheque cashed

2011 May 5 - Biometrics (letter rec'd via snail mail April 15)

2011 May 9 - Placed in line for interview scheduling

2011 June 13 - Rec'd yellow letter (no change in status online)

2011 June 23 - Rec'd text that my case has been scheduled for interview

2011 August 1 - Interview (rec'd via snail mail June 27) PASSED

2011 August 3 - Rec'd email that my case has been scheduled for Oath

2011 September 1 - Oath ceremony (rec'd snail mail Aug 5)

2011 September 1 - All done, yeah.

I found the best way to stop from going crazy was to play slot machines in the hotel I was staying in the night before :D

Dont worry you'll be fine, Im not from Canada but Sydney was a breeze, didn t look at anything Id obsessed over preparing. Total of 3, five minute conversations spread over an hour and a half and it was over..

Jun 28 - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!

July 06- Green card arrives.

LIFTING CONDITIONS 2009

June 12 - mailed package

June 15 - check cashed

June 19 - NOA extension letter ( card expires June 26th)

July 03 - Biometrics notice

July 14 - Biometrics appointment

OCT 29 - CARD PRODUCTION ORDERED!!!

Heya Debbie!!!

Omg yesterday i was just thinking of you knowing your interview is next monday!!!

Had to drive back my fiance to Mtl airport and that was killing me :cry: , but knowing that each day I am a step closer help me so much, as I remember you when you just started your K-1, and there you are, 1 week away from Interview!!!!! :dance:

Try to relax, everything is just little formalities and Im sure its gonna be like a breeze (F) Wish you the best and keep us updated :star:

Thanks everyone for the support . . . we are definately planning on spending time at the Casino in Montreal . . . and are making a trip out of it - staying at the Hyatt for a few days - taking in the sights.

Anyone in Monreal and can give an update on the weather? Being from Florida, I'd love to see some snow!

Hi there,

I am going to my interview on the 22nd at 9:30am. I will be there around 7:30am just to make sure.

I live in Montreal and my fiancé is living in Alabama. He will be flying on the 22nd but won't be able to be with me for the interview. He will be landing around 12:00 am on the 23rd.

my suggestion is to stay calm...( I am telling you this even if I am having trouble to stay calm my self. LOL...!)

We are finally at the end of this process and are very excited about this. we will be moving around the first week of January. I just did like you and have everything photocopied....

I will be posting my interview experiece and let you know how it went.
