So, we received our NOA2 on April 22nd, we are calling NVC for a number consistently to get the NVC and Invoice number. I understand once we get this we can mail in our Packet 3 and then upon receiving our Packet 4, we will get our interview date. But the wait time for interviews at the Montreal consulate (I live in Canada) shows 4-6months and the wait time for an interview in Malaysia where I am from is 50 days. So just in case I do not get a soon enough date, and decide to relocate my interview to Malaysia, does anyone know how long it will take to transfer the case and what do I need to do to do this?

You can try, you may be successful, or you may not.

Keep in mind the statement right after Part B, Question 20, page 2 of the Form I-129F petition:

"Note: (Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your fiancé(e)'s last residence does not guarantee acceptance for processing by that foreign post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.)"

Good luck.

We did this successfully but before it got to nvc. You will need an address in the ciuntry you want yo interview. If you wait to change it, then youll have to wait for the busy canadian consukate to send it BACK to nvc and then reroute to malaysia. Why not just start by having nvc send it to malaysia since youre from there and you know its faster?

I am in the process of changing consulates , from London to Japan.

USC fiance sent letters and e- mails to NVC after we got the NOA2 to inform that I wanted the interview in Tokyo.

Three weeks later he got a letter from NVC stating that my case had been sent to London, and that it was out NVC's hands.

He wrote a letter to the London consulate to request the case be sent to Japan. No reply.

Two days ago I looked on the Tokyo consulate's website, and after much digging around found that I, the beneficiary, have to fill in a case transfer request, and proof of residence etc to the Tokyo consulate.

The Tokyo consulate then contact the London one asking for the case to be sent to them.

Check case transfer procedures for the US embassy in your country. Good luck!

Hi! We had just received our NOA1 lat April 30 but I'm planning to transfer our case from Dubai (where I lived now) to Philippines. We're looking forward to receive our NOA2 by October or November latest. By December I want to resign from my work, go home and stay with my family while we are on the Interview process. Advantage also in the Phil is you will book your own appointment while in UAE, Embassy schedule it 2-3 months. Should we inform CSC by this time or we need to wait till we get our NOA2 approved?. Thanks for the help!
