Fiancé visa - how long can it take?

Hi,

I am German, still living in Germany and me fiancé sent away

the fiancé visa appllication on the beginning of October.

Does any of you know how long it takes on the average, until

it is approved and I can finally go there? Maybe it is hard to say

as the waiting time can be very different..... but waiting is so hard....

6-9 months is a realistic timeframe to have. It isn't a quick process I'm afraid. If he sent it into Vermont though it tends to be a bit quicker than TSC and CSC.

The wait time definitely varies too widely to give a definitive answer as to how long it can take. Coming from Germany though, you should have no problem traveling to the USA while the petition is being processed. You will want to be prepared to show proof you still have ties and intent to return to Germany.

And of course, if you visit DO NOT GET MARRIED!

first of all good luck on your journey and hopefully you are a patient person.

regarding your question how long the process of a K-1 visa might take so at the bst you check out some timelines of members here from this forum.

I am German too and we finally have passed everything so far except I´m still waiting for my visa to be sent to me by registered mail.

We got started in April 2006 and my visa interview appointment in Frankfurt was on Nov. 09.

But the processing times varey a lot, depending a lot on what service center you had to file with.

You are so right! The hardest part is the waiting, and the closer to the end of your process, the slower time seems to go. But, when all said and done, the past nine months seem to have gone so fast.
