The funny thing here is I'm not religious and I agree with you about life beginning at conception.

Non-religious people can and will point at different stages of fetal development to determine when this group of cells develops into an actual human. Religious institutions will say your soul enters your body at conception and that it was God's will.

But the church is firmly against gay marriage, contraceptives, and abortion. So, most Catholics are choosing to not strictly follow their religious direction in a political election. How very relevant.

well whatever, we need government and religion completely separate. that concept isn't working out too well under the current approach.

Most of the world would find the idea you could separate religion from politics an impossible task.
