Hi All ,

I really appreciate if someone here has any experience with Chicago office regarding N-400 application. Can anyone share how long the process took from submitting the application to day of oath ceremony? I submitted my application on 1st week of September 2012 and did my interview on 1st week of march 2013 and now I am in in-line for oath. Dont know when this journey will end :(

I will greatly appreciate your comments

Thanks

Hi formywife,

If you don't mind ,can I suggest that you try to find out how often and when they hold oath ceremonies in your area? this might be a big help to you. Some places only have a few oaths a month or a year. if you can somehow find this information I think it would be a good guideline for you on when to expect the oath letter. Also, depending on how long it's been you can schedule an infopass or call the helpline for more information on your case. It's very touching to see how badly you want this process to be over do you can be with your wife. I hope everything comes through quickly and you can finally start the countdown to be together again. All the best to you.

Hi Jmericanlove,

Thank you very much for your response and I really appreciate your concern for me. During the interview I was told that they will not do oath ceremony in Chicago for me as I live out of Chicago and I have to wait for next upcoming ceremony in my town. The next upcoming ceremony in my town in on May 17 and I have already confirmed it with local court office. In addition to this, my one friend have already got oath ceremony letter for May 17 at local court office. He submitted N-400 application 2 months after me and did interview 3 days after me. We both were place in line for oath at the same day, he got the letter about 10 days ago, and I still don't have a letter in hand.

I have scheduled Info-Pass appointment this week. Hopefully I will get some good news there.

Either Chicago office is really really slow or May 17 oath ceremony date is already full and I have to wait for another oath ceremony in town which will be on July 12. Really missing my wife, it been already more than 6 months I have met her and we spend just 10 days together, that 10 days went like 10 minutes. I am dying to hug her in my arms and tell her that I missed her tonnes every day here. :(

Only one thing I can do is Pray, look at my wife's desperate eyes in Skype every day and wait patiently for this Journey to be over. I know even after becoming USC, journey is not easy until she comes out of POE here.

Thank you
